“In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, I felt as though I had entered a dimension detached from the usual concerns of the world — a sort of parallel reality with the ultimate purpose of stimulating every circuit devoted to hedonism. This is the central concept behind these transoceanic megastructures: money for pleasure, all encapsulated in a piece of polyvinyl chloride acetate — the true precursor to a massive surge of serotonin. This sparked a deep fascination and curiosity within me; suddenly, I found myself photographing these genuine miracles of nautical engineering, unable to stop for three years. I stopped only when I felt absolutely sated, as if I had just finished a hearty Christmas dinner. Thus, ‘On Board’ was born”.
